Introducing the Charentés 200 liter STANDARD Still, a model similar to the classic soldered still but with an important difference: it has a tank with an internal coil.
This tank has the function of preheating the mash being distilled, using the steam from the distillation to heat the mash that will then pass to the main boiler. This reduces both distillation time and energy consumption.
The still has a capacity of 200 liters in the boiler and 120 liters in the central tank, with a yield of 10-15% of its capacity. Between 32 and 48 liters are obtained per distillation, considering a 10º alcoholic ferment.
Made of 2 mm copper sheet, with hammered, shiny brass handles and nuts, and welded joints.
The still includes 3 large thermometers (0-120º): one installed in the head or capitel to control the distillation temperature, another in the central tank (preheater or wine heater) to control the temperature of the new mash to be distilled, and another in the condenser to control the temperature of the cooler.
It also includes a large alcoholmeter (0-100º) to determine the alcohol content of the distillation, a stand for the alcoholmeter, and a specific 60 cm gas burner for this model.
In addition, it has a discharge tube in the boiler with a stainless steel or brass valve of 2.5" to discharge the excess product from the distillation, and iron supports for the boiler, the central tank, and the condenser.
