Introducing the Charentés 400 liter STANDARD Still, a model similar to the classic soldered one with a key difference: it has an internal tank with a coil.
This tank has the function of preheating the mash being distilled, using the vapor from the distillation to heat the mash that is then transferred to the main boiler. This reduces both the distillation time and energy consumption.
The Charentés Still has a capacity of 400 liters in the boiler and 250 liters in the central tank, with a yield of 10-15% of its capacity. In each distillation, between 65 and 98 liters are obtained, considering a 10% alcohol ferment.
This model is made of 2.5 mm copper sheet, with hammered, shiny brass handles and nuts, and welded joints.
It includes 3 large thermometers from 0-120º to control the distillation temperature, one installed in the helmet or capitel, another in the central tank (preheater or wine heater), and another in the condenser.
It also has a large alcohol meter from 0-100º to measure the alcohol content of the distillation, a support for the alcohol meter, a specific 70 cm gas burner for this model, a discharge tube in the boiler with a 2.5" stainless steel or brass valve, and iron supports for the boiler, central tank, and condenser.
